The Edmonton Oilers have activated Mattias Janmark from the LTIR

The Edmonton Oilers have activated forward Mattias Janmark from the Long-Term Injured Reserve. After appearing in seven games this season, Janmark was placed on the LTIR after being sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Janmark’s injury timeline

Janmark last played on October 26 against the New York Rangers before he left the game. That was the same retroactive date that his LTIR placement started. Using the LTIR, Janmark would have to miss a minimum of 10 games or 24 days in the season. His return correlates with him missing 10 games spanning October 29 through November 20.

During the morning skate, Janmark lined up with Ryan McLeod and Derek Ryan as a part of their third line. That’s where he’ll slot in to start the game versus the Carolina Hurricanes.

Here’s what he said about his linemates for tonight:

Clouder’s got a lot of speed, he pushes teams back, he can carry the puck in zone. I play with a lot of speed too, so I like playing with him. And D.R. is just a really good pro—he makes the right plays and if you open up space for him and give him some time he’ll make some really good offensive plays too and he’ll take care of the defensive zone too. So I’m looking forward to playing with him.

Best of luck to Janmark in his return from injury.
