Matthew Savoie’s playing career
The St. Albert’s product is having a great season with the Bakersfield Condors, recording 13 goals and 37 points in 45 games, good enough for second place in team scoring.
This week Savoie has practiced alongside Vasily Podkolzin and Leon Draisaitl, providing a great opportunity for the young winger to excel as a scorer.
We took a more in-depth look at where the young winger ideally fits in earlier this week.
In his last 20 games with the Condors, the 21-year-old has scored 22 points, including six goals.
Originally drafted ninth overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2022, the Oilers acquired him this past summer in exchange for Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio.
Savoie appeared in one game with the Sabres, making his NHL debut on November 10, 2023, where he logged five shifts in 3:55 of game time against the Minnesota Wild.
