Edmonton Oilers prospect updates

AHL

  • The Bakersfield Condors remain on a six-game losing streak, including three losses this past week against Henderson, and a pair of losses against the San Diego Gulls.
  • The Condors are 3–4–3 in their last ten games. They sit eighth in the AHL’s Pacific Division with a combined record of 20–19–9.
  • James Hamblin continues to impress, but has cooled down this past week a bit. James Stefan scored in his first AHL game back on the 22nd since his recall from Fort Wayne.
  • James Stefan was reassigned to the Condors from the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets on the February 22. Matthew Savoie got the long awaited call-up to the Edmonton Oilers on February 21.

ECHL

  • The Fort Wayne Komets sit sixth in the ECHL’s Western conference with a 30–17–4 record.
  • They are 1–3–0 in the last week, collecting their lone win against the Indy Fuel in a 4–3 fashion.
  • Connor Ungar split a pair of games this past week, collecting his sole win against the Indy Fuel.

Europe

  • Tomas Mazura found the scoresheet again in his clubs Wednesday morning game against Mountfield HK, after a five game drought. The young European is finding reliable minutes again with 16:44 of TOI in that game.
  • Sam Jonsson appeared in one game this past week stopping 22 of 23 regulation shots in a 2–1 loss to AIK on the 21st.

NCAA

  • Paul Fischer played a pair of games against the University of Wisconsin, averaging around 18:00 of TOI per game, and posted a single assist in their first game on the 21st.
  • Joel Maatta had another solid week, with another three point outing, this time against the Boston College Eagles, getting involved in each of his teams goals in a 6–3 loss. Maybe this is a sign that Maatta is unlocking higher end offensive instincts, and awareness.
  • Lachance and Matt Copponi appeared in a pair of games against Northeastern. Lachance found the back of the net in the second game, while Copponi posted an assist in that same game.

OHL

  • The London Knights remained on a roll, collecting a seven game win streak before Kitchener ended it on Sunday. Nicholl collected three points in three games this past week.
  • Akey appeared in three games this past week, and left the week on a two game point streak. Wakely appeared in one fight over the week. The Barrie Colts are also retiring Kyle Cliffords jersey in their February 25 game.
  • Brady Stonehouse had an night against the Barrie Colts on the February 22, posting a goal, an assist, and six total shots on goal.
  • Connor Clattenburg joined the 100 penalty minute club this past week, now standing at a total of 101 on the season. The forward also posted a pair of assists in Flints game on the 22nd versus Windsor. Day appeared in both games, and collected his sole win in that same game against Windsor.
