All situations Corsi
- Despite pouring on 39 shots, the Oilers didn’t have a significant number of shot attempts. With just 65 Corsi, they were quite efficient with getting shots on net (and goals as well).
- Edmonton had a slowish start in the first period, but their second period was the biggest difference-maker as it powered them to victory.
- The Oilers played a perfect game on offence. The team is one of the best in the league at funnelling pucks to the high-danger areas, and this game was no different.
- Edmonton’s defence could clean things up a bit as well, but their offence obviously more than made up for it.
5v5 Corsi
- A similar story at 5v5 here, with the Ducks opening the game stronger, but the Oilers responding without any issue.
- Amazingly, all nine goals in the game were scored at 5v5.
