Oilers Game Recaps

Oilers Visual Recap 8: Edmonton wins track meet over Blackhawks in penalty-ridden game

For the second game of their back-to-back set, the Edmonton Oilers went from St. Louis to Chicago to faceoff against the Blackhawks. Having won the night prior with Stuart Skinner in net, the Oilers turned to Jack Campbell.

The game was a track meet and a half, as the list of goals and penalties were both quite lengthy. By game’s end, the Oilers converted three times on their seven power play chances and the Blackhawks potted two power play goals on… ten power plays. You read that right. Neither team could stay out of the penalty box.

Connor McDavid picked up his second hat trick of the season, and a last minute goal by birthday boy Leon Draisaitl powered Edmonton to their second straight victory, just in time for the next Battle of Alberta.
