Matthew Savoie named to 2025 AHL Pacific Division All-Star roster

The Bakersfield Condors and Edmonton Oilers will have a new prospect in this year’s AHL All-Star Classic. In the 2024 offseason, the Oilers sent Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for 2022 ninth overall pick Matthew Savoie. After representing Team Canada at the 2024 World Juniors and winning the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Savoie is now representing the Condors as an AHL all-star.

Condors at the All-Star Classic

Since the All-Star Classic returned in 2023, the Condors have had one player make the Pacific roster each time. Seth Griffith was selected in 2023, Raphael Lavoie in 2024, and now Matthew Savoie for 2025.

Savoie comes in on a strong campaign, posting nine goals and 15 assists, good for 24 points over 29 games. This is his first true pro season. Despite playing a handful of games with the Rochester Americans last year, he spent the majority of his time in the WHL with the Wenatchee Wild and aforementioned Warriors.

In 2024–25, Savoie has been a bright spot. He’s even been heating up as well, recently posting two consecutive three-point games.

Good luck to Savoie and the Pacific

The AHL’s All-Star Classic has been won by the Pacific the last two times. They’ll go for their third straight win next month as the Classic takes place on February 2–3.
