Two weeks until Christmas, check on your favourite prospects to see if any of them have activated Christmas Holidays mode.
There is so much to get into this week- let’s dive right in!
Welcome to the TOR Edmonton Oilers prospect update. Each week, we’ll take a dive into how the Oilers’ prospects have done in their respective leagues. We have defined a prospect as a skater who has played fewer than 65 NHL games, and is younger than 25 years of age.
Edmonton Oilers prospect updates
AHL
- The Bakersfield Condors are looking for a momentum shift as they are 3–7–0 in their last ten games.
- Matthew Savoie remains the leading prospect point producer for the Condors with 11 in 20 games.
- Noel Hoefenmayer has been traded to Montreal in exchange for Jacob Perreault who scored in his first game with the Condors.
ECHL
- Connor Ungar has started to turn his season around with another solid weekend allowing four goals on 48 shots in two starts, collecting one win and one loss along the way.
Europe
- Two games, and two wins for Samuel Jonsson again. One of which was a 20-save shutout against Almtuna IS. With a sparkling .941 save percentage is this the time Jonsson starts to get SHL looks?
- Eemil Vinni got assigned back to the HIFK U20, where he impressed again in his sole game this last week posting a .931 stopping 27 of 29 shots in a loss to Kiekko-Espoo U20.
- Albin Sundin has found his stride and regular time. The young defender posted two points in 20:42 of ice time against Mora IK, the first of two games for him this past week. He then reached another high with 21:15 of ice against Kalmar.
NCAA
- Two games and two points with an even rating for one of the few Finns in the NCAA, Joel Maatta.
OHL
- A busy time for Nathanial Day as he appeared in three games this past week against Barrie, Sudbury, and Sarnia.
- Beau Akey continues to be leaned on by Marty Williamson and the Barrie Colts playing as much as 27:46 minutes this past week. As a result he posted three assists in as many games. Teammate Dalyn Wakely also posted two goals in this span.
- One game two points for William Nicholl, as he continues to impress in his D+1 year.
- Connor Clattenburg returned to form this past week finding the scoresheet twice and being an offensive driver for a struggling Flint Firebirds team recently.
Russia
- Denezhkin is solidifying his development, and finding the scoresheet, with one goal and increased responsibility this past week.
