Zach Hyman has hit a major career milestone in tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins!
With his assist, he has reached the 400-career point mark. Hyman hit his 400th point in his 588th game.
How did Hyman get to 400 career points?
Originally a draft pick of the Florida Panthers, Hyman never actually played with the organization and instead developed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was there where he grew into a hard working NHL player.
In six seasons with the Maple Leafs, Hyman scored 86 goals and totalled 185 points. He hit a (then) career high of 21 goals and 41 points in 2018–19.
It was in Edmonton, however, where Hyman truly stared to shine. Alongside Connor McDavid, Hyman has turned into one of the top net front presences in the league and has absolutely smashed his previous career highs.
Now in his fourth season with the Oilers, Hyman has already outscored his tenure in Toronto. He currently has 117 goals and 215 points, with a career high 54 goals last season and 83 points in 2022–23.
What is next for Hyman?
With his scoring pace as a member of the Oilers, Hyman is on track to hit a few more career scoring milestones.
In fact, he is just three assists away from 200 on his career. And with 588 career games played, he will be reaching his 600th game in the NHL this season.
