The Edmonton Oilers opened up Round 2 to face off against the team that had their number throughout the regular season. In facing the Vancouver Canucks, the Oilers needed to find a way to win against a team that they haven’t fully figured out.
In the first game of the series, the Oilers seemingly did get things figured out as they went up by 4–1. However, by destiny or luck or curses or cosmic karma—whatever you want to call it—the 4–1 lead remained the most dangerous lead in hockey as the Canucks came back to stun the Oilers, taking Game 1 by a score of 5–4 in regulation.
Onto the next one.
