Oilers Game Recaps

Oilers Visual Recap 56: Oilers blow three-goal lead in shootout loss to Rangers

The Edmonton Oilers faced the New York Rangers at home last night. Jack Campbell started in goal, as the Oilers looked to bounce back from a two-game losing streak.

Despite scoring four of the game’s first five goals, the Oilers were unable to hold onto their 4–1 lead. The Rangers battled back with one goal in the second period, and two more in the third to send the game to extra time. Alexis Lafreniere scored the shootout winner in round six to ice the game.

This extended the Oilers’ losing streak to three games, but they’ve picked up two points over that stretch and still in the first wild card spot in the Western Conference.
