The Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins faced off in a battle of centre depth galore. The Oilers were looking to get back into the win column after being shutout by the St. Louis Blues, and they had a tough task of facing against one of the league’s best teams right now in the Penguins.
After exactly 22 minutes of play, the Oilers needed to climb out of a two-goal deficit, and they use the remaining 38 minutes of the game to handedly do so. Scoring five unanswered goals, the game went from being 3–1 in Pittsburgh’s favour to 6–3 in Edmonton’s.
Amazing, Connor McDavid was held off the scoresheet in the doubling up of the Penguins. Six different Oilers scored in the game, something Edmonton’s already done once before this season just two games ago against the Carolina Hurricanes.
