The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars kicked off the Western Conference Final with a bit of a marathon. The Oilers got up ahead by two goals early in the second period, but the Stars came back with Tyler Seguin netting two markers himself—including a late third period goal—to bring the game to overtime.
Edmonton survived a lengthy double minor in the first overtime period with Connor McDavid being the culprit. The frame ended out with both teams still tied but McDavid went ahead and finished up the game early in the second overtime period to give Edmonton the Game 1 victory!
