The Edmonton Oilers were looking to split the series at one game apiece before heading back to play Games 3 and 4 in Rogers Place. Unfortunately, the Florida Panthers got the better of the Oilers again as they won again to take a 2โ0 series lead.
The Oilers scored on their first shot of the gameโwhich came over halfway through the first periodโ finally getting on the board in the Stanley Cup Final. However, the Panthers answered back with four straight goals of their own while Sergei Bobrovsky played a perfect game the rest of the way.
Edmonton heads home down two games, but it’s not an insurmountable deficit. They’ll look to string a couple of wins of their own to turn the Cup Final into a best-of-three, but they’ll have some work to do in order to even make that a reality.
