After a physical Game 3 of the second-round series between the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks, two Canucks defenders were handed supplemental discipline by the league.
Connor McDavid cross-checked twice
The incident leading to this took place after the final whistle. Connor McDavid began a scrum with Carson Soucy, leading to the Oilers captain delivering a slash to the Canucks defender.
In retaliation, Soucy slashed McDavid as Nikita Zadorov cross-checked him from behind. As McDavid fell forward, Soucy cross-checked him in the face.

For their actions, Zadorov has been fined $5,000 while Soucy has been given a one-game suspension.
This series has been nothing short of controversial as the online discourse from both sides has honed in on one topic: Officiating.
There has been no consistency in what a penalty is and it seems to change from whistle to whistle, leaving both sides frustrated and confused at the officials are making the show about themselves.
