The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings were the last teams to get the playoffs started and it was worth the wait. The Oilers ran away with the game as Zach Hyman posted a hat trick, Connor McDavid picked up five assists (four of which were primary), and the Oilers were immediately under the skin of their opponents.
While any and all series are hard-fought battles, the Oilers easily took Game 1 and couldn’t start the playoffs much better than this.
