The Edmonton Oilers continued their preseason road trip by visiting the Seattle Kraken. Initially things looked more even between the teams, but as the game wore on, it became a very different story in terms of on-ice products.
After the first period, it was knotted at one apiece. However, the Kraken were relentless on the puck, coming in waves of offence, but another strong game from Jack Campbell effectively shut them out. He was perfect in the final 40 minutes as the Kraken poured on the pressure.
On the flip side, the Oilers had trouble getting pucks on net, but an early third period snipe from Connor McDavid turned into the game-winning goal. Xavier Bourgault scored twice in the game—making his case for the opening night roster—and the Oilers eventually won with a 4–1 final score.
With it being preseason, there are some issues to work out with the data, so these are the charts available for your perusal!
