Edmonton Oilers

Hockey This Fortnight Episode 37: Post-Orgy Edition

Join your favourite podcasters Steven Darnell, Megan Fowler and Avry Lewis-McDougall for a thorough discussion of offside reviews and what should change to make the game better, whether or not the Oilers can win the Stanley Cup with the current goaltending tandem of Stuart Skinner and Jack Campbell. A surprising addition to the lineup has been Mattias Ekholm, as he is the defenceman that Peter Chiarelli thought Adam Larsson could be, but wasn’t. Ekholm provides some stability on the top pair that wasn’t there before, and that’s been refreshing to see.

Your hosts also talk about the Western Conference playoff race, and discuss whether or not both the Kraken and Jets can hold on in the last 12 or so games. Calgary has turned the corner while those other teams have dropped off just a bit, so the last 3 weeks of the season should be interesting

James Reimer’s refusal to wear the Pride jersey for the Sharks Pride night is also discussed at length; the positions of the hosts should not surprise anyone, but there’s a different tone with this particular example than with Provorov.

As always, they end with a question: Which movie should be recast with Muppets except for one character. The answers are good.
