Edmonton Oilers

Breaking down Edmonton Oilers odds in the betting market

With the start of the hockey season right around the corner, many are looking to find value on the betting market. The Edmonton Oilers are looking to beat their demons and finally win it all this year, and with Connor McDavid on the last year of his current deal, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

But are there any areas where fans might be able to put some stakes down in the betting market? When it comes to the Oilers, there might be some intriguing options.

Connor McDavid – Rocket Richard winner +1800

As of October 4, McDavid has the fifth-highest odds to win the Rocket. David Pastrnak, Krill Kaprizov, Leon Draisaitl, and Auston Matthews all have higher odds.

McDavid has stated that he wants to shoot the puck a lot more this year. He has stated that he wants to prove that scoring 50 to 60 goals is not a one time thing. And considering he is on his last year of his deal, there might be some really good value in this bet.

Isaac Howard – Calder Trophy winner +1600

The former Hobey Baker Award winner may be in the running to win the award for the best rookie in the NHL. Ivan Demidov is a heavy favourite; however, Howard shouldn’t be counted out. If he is on a line with McDavid and Draisaitl, he may be able to really capitalize on that opportunity considering his skill.

Connor McDavid – Art Ross winner +160

The best player in the world doesn’t have favourable odds to win the trophy given to the highest point producer in a contract year. Do with that what you will.

Edmonton Oilers – under 104.5 regular season points

The Oilers are arguably the best team in the Pacific Division. It’s really between them and the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite this, the Oilers have only finished a season with over 104 points one time in the McDavid era, and that was in 2022–23. They have finished with 104 points two times, and least season they secured 101 points.

On top of this, the Vegas Golden Knights got much better by adding Mitch Marner to their team while Anaheim may finish higher due to their free agent acquisitions and their younger player’s development; Vancouver is looking to improve on last year, and the Los Angeles Kings are arguably still just as good. The Oilers will be fighting to win the division, but over 104 points may be a bit steep.

Edmonton Oilers – Stanley Cup winner +800

I know us hockey fans and our superstitions, so let me be very clear, I am not looking to jinx anything, and I am only going to state facts. It is a contract year for McDavid, the Oilers now have Connor Ingram to stabilize their goaltending, oh and Alexander Barkov is out for the whole season. Moving along.

May the odds be in your favour

With another season underway, there is definitely some value around for Oilers-specific bets. As always, though, if you are going to participate in sports betting, it’s very important to always do it within your limits and bet responsibly.
