NHL weekly schedule
Games per day from March 3 to March 9
| Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 11 | 4 | 9 | 6 | 11 | 7 |
During week 21 we’ll see a slower start to the week with only four games on both Monday and Wednesday. The remainder of the week will feel similar to the week prior with 33 games between Thursday and Sunday. These will be the days that matter in your weekly matchups.
Games per day remain spread throughout the week with a lesser concentration of games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights than we’ve seen for the bulk of 2025. Fantasy managers will have ample opportunity to maximize their games played on the week using well timed add/drops.
Keep these resources at the top of your season-long tool list. Use them to guide your transactions. These become more valuable as the season goes on and teams establish themselves in overall power rankings.
Daily Face-off provides a schedule table with each team’s games over the upcoming fantasy week for easy comparison between teams focusing on back-to-backs and off-day games.
Left Wing Lock goes deeper to look at strength of schedule so you can see which teams have easy games coming up and could be focused on for your streaming options.

Fantasy hockey team of the week
The fantasy team of the week highlights the top player at each position from the previous week. Scoring follows Yahoo!’s default point settings and categories.
Left wing
Steven Stamkos – 66.6 FPTS
It was the biggest week of the season for Steven Stamkos and his biggest as a member of the Nashville Predators. He scored 4G and had 4A on 14SOG including a hat trick on Saturday Night against the Chicago Blackhawks. The hot streak was well timed as it ended a 13-game pointless streak for the veteran forward.
Centre
Nathan MacKinnon – 76.7 FPTS
It’s been a rough week for teams playing against the Colorado Avalanche. MacKinnon has 4G, 5A, 4PPP, and a +5 rating on the week. The superstar now has three multi-goal performances over his last five games. His 9PTS pushed his season total to 100, the most of any player this year.
Right wing
Tom Wilson – 51.20 FPTS
Marked as one of the leagues toughest characters, Wilson adds an offensive value that is often overlooked by opponents. Washington has adjusted its lines to have Alex Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and Wilson together at even strength and on their top PP unit. Wilson scored 3G and added 3A on the week while maintaining a +5 rating.
Defence
Cale Makar – 57.20 FPTS
This should come as no surprise as the Avalanche made a mess of their opponents all week long. Makar scored 2A with 6A during week 20. His top performance of the year occurred on Thursday when he registered 2G, 4A, including 2PPP and 1SHP. When he’s healthy, there’s nobody better on the blue line.
Goalie
Dustin Wolf – 49.8 FPTS
Wolf led all goaltenders in fantasy points this week. His week was highlighted by a shutout victory on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens. He added another win against Philadelphia in a high scoring contest. The young goaltender could be starting games for the Flames for a long time to come.
Streamers of the week
It’s basically expected that the league’s top players will be the ones you want on your roster week in, and week out. But those players aren’t likely to be available for you to pick up. Here are some players who are hot with low ownership percentages that you should consider picking up for the week.
Logan Stankoven (C,RW) – Carolina Hurricanes 26% Rostered
Within the aftermath of the Mikko Rantanen trade, Logan Stankoven vaults into an L1/PP1 role in Carolina. Currently skating with Sebasitian Aho and Andrei Svechnickov the 22-year-old forward has an exciting opportunity ahead of him. Look to see what his role with Carolina continues to be going forward. He’s off to a good start with a power play goal in his first game with the Hurricanes.
Mason McTavish (C) – Anaheim Ducks 28% Rostered
Over his last 4GP, McTavish has scored 3G and added 3A while skating to a +4 rating. His role for the Ducks includes a PP1 role, despite being listed on the teams 3rd line. With 4GP during the week, McTavish makes for a great streaming addition.
Jake Walman (D) – Edmonton Oilers 64% Rostered
Walman escapes San Jose and lands in Edmonton with a chance to make an impact offensively and defensively. His efforts were on full display during Edmonton’s 5–4 against Dallas on Saturday night as he skated to a +3 rating with a highlight reel assist. Walman makes a great add in banger leagues with hits and blocks being a big part of his game.
Karel Vejmelka (G) – Utah Hockey Club 37% Rostered
Vejmelka will see a heavy workload down the stretch with Connor Ingram entering the player assistance program. Having won five of his last seven starts, Vejmelka is on the right side of the trend for goaltenders. His next three games are against Toronto, Anaheim, and Seattle. Look to see two starts over this stretch with one to two wins as an expectation.
Edmonton Oilers fantasy updates
Jake Walman (D) – Edmonton Oilers – 64% Rostered
Walman left his mark on his first game in Edmonton with 1A and a +3 rating. He’s currently skating on the teams top pairing and second PP unit. Look to see Walman be embraced for additional ice time with Edmonton, who has been looking for better back end support.
