Oilers Game Recaps

Oilers Visual Recap SCF G1: Edmonton shutout by Bobrovsky in Stanley Cup Final opener

After nearly a week between series, the anticipation for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final reached an all-time high as the Edmonton Oilers were set to take on the Florida Panthers. Starting the series over 4,000 kilometres away from home, the Oilers aimed to steal home-ice advantage. However, the Panthers got the better of Edmonton as the home team shut out the visitors.

Edmonton played a strong game but Sergei Bobrovsky was a brick wall as the Oilers failed to solve the netminder. Usually, a loss like this doesn’t give much to improve on as the team simply got goalied, but it’ll be a long series if they figure out how to get pucks into the net as fast as possible.

Nothing to worry about yet, but a setback is still a setback.
