Recent reports had surfaced that the Edmonton Oilers were looking to sign goaltender Connor Ungar. On Monday, March 18, the team made it official, signing him to a two-year entry-level contract as expected.

Connor Ungar joins the Oilers organization

Signing with the Oilers at the conclusion of his rookie campaign with Brock University, he accomplished many feats as a goaltender. The team ultimately bowed out in the U Sports Nationals when facing the heavy favourites, the University of New Brunswick Reds, but Ungar’s campaign was great.

In 26 regular season games, Ungar went 20–6–0 with a 2.15 GAA and a .932 SV%. In the playoffs, he went 3–3–0 with a 2.33 GAA and .928 SV%.

The Calgary-born goalie will now join the city’s rivals up north and will be reporting to the Bakersfield Condors.
