The Edmonton Oilers’ season has come to an end at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights. In similar fashion to their loss in Game 5, the Oilers gave up three straight goals and couldn’t recover.
It was a hard fought series by both teams and it really could have gone either way. Vegas was far better at 5v5 though, and that was the difference maker in the series.
Regardless, it was an incredible learning opportunity for the younger and older players alike. This type of adversity is what makes the strongest teams and the Oilers will no doubt be back even hungrier next season.
Until then, the draft and free agency are up next on the calendar.
Charts from the Game 6 elimination loss are below.
