The Los Angeles Kings put up a valiant fight, but the Edmonton Oilers prevailed in Game 6 and have punched their ticket to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
This was another classic game in the now two year playoff rivalry between the Oilers and Kings. It was back and forth, full of energy and momentum swings, and a true show for fans on both sides.
Three separate times the Kings came back to tie the game, but Kailer Yamamoto played hero with a clutch go-ahead goal with around three minutes remaining in regulation. The Kings were unable to come back from that dagger, and the Oilers prevailed on the road after a tight series.
The better team won the series. Now, the Oilers will face the Vegas Golden Knights.
Charts from the series-clinching win are below.
