The Edmonton Oilers were looking to win four games in a row for only the second time this season. Their previous season-long winning streak was five games at the end of October. They had a chance to do so while facing off against the red-hot Seattle Kraken.
Things didn’t start off well for the Oilers as they were down early in the first, but their offence responded as they tied the game by the end of the period. In the second, the Oilers scored twice to go ahead with goals from unusual suspects. In the third, they immediately thwarted the Kraken’s attempt at a comeback by responding to a Seattle goal with another goal of their own just one minute later.
Edmonton suppressed the Seattle offence by keeping them to the outside as seen in the shot charts, and that was a key factor in their victory. That makes four in a row for Edmonton! All charts from the game are below.
