The Edmonton Oilers hosted the Minnesota Wild, looking to extend their winning streak to four games. Stuart Skinner started in goal for the Oilers, while Marc-Andre Fleury tended the net for the Wild.
This game was all Oilers the whole game at 5v5. They put forward a solid effort, winning battles and out gunning a good Wild team. On special teams, however, the Wild pummeled the Oilers with shots, but Skinner was the difference maker as he held strong in net.
The Oilers jumped out to a two goal lead in the first period courtesy of Derek Ryan and Connor McDavid.
The Wild got the next two, one in the first from Joel Eriksson-Ek and one early in the second from Mats Zuccarello, but that’s as close as the Wild would get in this one. They never led the game at any point, and the Oilers responded by scoring the next three markers.
Kailer Yamamoto, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all scored for the Oilers en route to a 5-2 victory.
