Oilers Game Recaps

Oilers Visual Recap 22: Late-game heroics lead to quick overtime win for Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers desperately needed some good news. With their roster ravaged by injuries, they were seeking to lock in two straight wins for the first time in the month of November. They finally did it with their last available chance. In a game that saw Matthew Tkachuk score first for the Florida Panthers with a long, long taunt the Oilers crowd, it’d be Edmonton getting the last laugh.

The two teams switched leads throughout the game, but with the game dwindling down, Edmonton was trailing. Putting pressure in the offensive zone, the Oilers tied it up with just 4.4 seconds remaining. Then early in overtime, Tkachuk slid on the ice to remove himself from the play as he watched Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl score on a two-on-one to end the game.

A big win for the home team as Edmonton finally picks up a win streak of two.
