Oilers Game Recaps

Oilers Visual Recap 21: Four goals in the third period sparks massive comeback for Edmonton

Recently falling to a .500 record with 10 wins and 10 losses, the Edmonton Oilers were looking to right the ship against the New York Rangers. Things didn’t look good for the visiting Oilers after two periods as they were down 3–0 despite playing better hockey than the home team.

With their backs against the wall, the Oilers went to work in the final 20 minutes and staged an unlikely comeback. Funnily enough, the Oilers had a crazy comeback against the Rangers last November too. This time around, the young players on the team would take over, as Ryan McLeod picked up three assists, Evan Bouchard scored twice, and Dylan Holloway finally scored his first career NHL goal.

As the clock dwindled down, the Oilers had a late-game power play. Leon Draisaitl scored to complete the second three-goal comeback against the Rangers in as many years.
