The Edmonton Oilers visited the Calgary Flames for preseason Battle of Alberta action. Well, some did. The Oilers didn’t ice their best players while the Flames did have most of theirs. Immediately, the Oilers were facing an uphill battle.
That said, Jack Campbell was solid in net. The Flames did score first, but it’d be their only goal that stood in the scoresheet. Two Calgary goals were called back due to goalie interference and time running out, and the Oilers were able to capitalise.
The Oilers tied the game up with under two minutes to go and were able to pick up the win in overtime.
With it being preseason, there are some issues to work out with the data, so these are the charts available for your perusal!

Where did all the great sports writers go. I don’t know of any that are left. Reading about sports used to be a pleasure. Somehow they just write “boring.” Perhaps a look back over the years for a year or two at past articles would help today’s writers so that we could get excited about games played again.
