Oilers Game Recaps

Oilers Visual Recap 55: Oilers fall in shootout to Red Wings

The Edmonton Oilers faced the Detroit Red Wings at home last night. Jack Campbell started in goal, as the Oilers looked to bounce back from a tough loss against the Montreal Canadiens earlier in the week.

This game didn’t start off well. The Red Wings jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period, and the Oilers fought back hard the entire game. Fortunately, they managed to even things up at 5-5 off goals from Leon Draisaitl and Klim Kostin in the first five ish minutes of the third period.

Ultimately though, the Red Wings prevailed in a shootout.

The Oilers controlled the game all night long, but the pucks just kept going in for the Wings. Regardless, it was a dominant effort and the Oilers walked away with a well earned point.

Charts from the game are below.
