The Edmonton Oilers are rolling. Hot off a big win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, they visited the Vancouver Canucks, looking for their sixth straight victory. Stuart Skinner started in goal for the Oilers.
After a hot first period that saw the Oilers go up 2–0, they never looked back. The Canucks pushed the game to 3-2 but an empty-netter from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins sealed the deal. With the win, the Oilers moved into a top-three spot in the Pacific Division, comfortably in the playoff picture.
