Oilers Visual Recap 40: Edmonton crushes Islanders to get back into win column

After dropping a tough one to the Seattle Kraken two nights before, the Edmonton Oilers aimed to get back into the win column in a home matchup against the New York Islanders. It was reported that Stuart Skinner would start in net, but Jack Campbell ended up starting.

The Islanders really didn’t come to play in this one. The Oilers dominated the first period and jumped out to a two-goal lead, which was too much for the Islanders to overcome. Connor McDavid registered his 500th career assist, and Leon Draisaitl registered his 400th in a banner night for the two superstars.

With the big win, the Oilers jumped into the first wild card spot in the West.

Charts from the game are below.
